When it comes to creating presentations I've never been a PowerPoint fan. I use Google Slides, but it still has its design restraints and minor annoyances. —Then comes Figma Slides, and it's just as awesome as you'd expect to come from Figma. Given that I prototype and use Figma for so many things, it's a natural switch. Figma Slides is in beta right now, and it's worth checking out.

I read just about every business and marketing book written by Donald Miller because they're quick, simple and practical. While most of the content in this book overlapped with previous books I've read, it still provided great insights and highlighted areas that I wanted to learn more about: sales, products, overhead and operations, and cash flow. A one-day read was worth the doing.

Built a CRUD Web App

Recently, I needed to create a web page where users could add, edit, and delete class dates. Instead of using WordPress, which would be maintenance-heavy and require complicated client training, I built a custom CRUD app from scratch. CRUD stands for Create, Read, Update, and Delete—the basic operations for managing data.

I used Vite for fast local development, React for the user interface, Tailwind CSS for styling, and Firebase for backend services like real-time database interactions and authentication. With some help from ChatGPT and breaking the project into small tasks from paper sketches to code, I was able to complete it quickly and efficiently. I was super fired up!...about my code working but more so about solving a problem in a custom way. :)
